Hundreds of community choirs are joining Try a Choir Week this August 24th-30th, inviting new visitors of all ages and backgrounds to discover the joy, connection and mental wellbeing benefits of singing together.
Hosted by Creativity Australia, the charity behind With One Voice, one of Australia’s largest inclusive community choir networks, this is the second national Try a Choir Week – encouraging people of all abilities to join a local choir session for free with no pressure.
After a highly successful first Try a Choir Week in 2025, this year Creativity Australia has opened the doors to all choirs across Australia to join in! Over 140 participating choirs are now live on an interactive map at tryachoir.com.

Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians experience loneliness or social disconnection? Attending community events, like a choir, reduces the risk of loneliness and social isolation by 89%. A 2024 survey revealed that 97% of With One Voice members felt better after attending choir, more than 2 in 3 felt less lonely or isolated after joining their choir.

About Creativity Australia & the With One Voice choirs
Creativity Australia is a national not-for-profit that aims to reduce the mental health impacts of loneliness and isolation through the neuroscientific benefits of group singing. The charity runs the With One Voice choir program, a national network of 26 inclusive community choirs that bring communities together to experience joy and connection. People from all walks of life are welcomed to the non-auditioned choirs which gather each week, building friendships through song. The choirs aim to improve mental health by building joyful, supportive, welcoming communities where everyone can belong.
