AT SITGES INTERNATIONAL FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL 2026
PHILLIP PHILADELPHIA (Australia, 2026, 72 mins) Sitges Screening date: 15th October

Australian surreal comedy, Phillip Philadelphia receives its International Premiere at this year’s Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, which runs 8th to 18th October. It marks the return of director Adam C. Briggs, whose previous film, A Grand Mockery, won Best Direction New Visions award at last year’s festival.
Attending the festival for the screening on Thursday 15th October are director Adam C, Briggs, producer Daniel Pollock, actors Geoffrey Vagg and Oliver Cameron, composer Carles Sanfeliu, cinematographer Adric Watson, and editor Vera Hector.
British screenwriter Phillip Philadelphia languishes in an old motel at the Gold Coast, Australia’s curdled quagmire of vapid opulence. Alienated from the film industry and his environment, low-budget debauches and decaying vestiges of empire prop up his weary existence. A young actor lover, a former colleague, and a drug-dealing neighbour weave throughout Phillip’s escapist fantasies.
Phillip Philadelphia is a queer melodrama and absurdist romp in part; the film also examines the dislocation of the artist in modern times. Directed by maverick auteur Adam C. Briggs (A Grand Mockery), it features independent, experimental performers Geoffrey Vagg, Oliver Cameron, and Sam Dixon. In the spirit of Pink Narcissus and early John Waters films, Briggs enjoys collaborating with non-professional actors that help blur the boundaries between fact and fiction.

The film received its world premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival 2026. Produced by Truffle Pig Films, which specialises in Australian made genre films for the global market, Phillip Philadelphia is available for UK and Europe sales representation.
