“What if Chappell Roan and Freddie Mercury had a baby? … might just be the fabulous popstar that British music has spent a long time waiting for.” – Rolling Stone UK

Following the release of breakthrough singles ‘Fabulous‘ and ‘Beautiful Freeks’, fast-rising pop artist MEEK returns today with her latest single, ‘Expensive Taste’, out now via BMG.A razor-sharp pop anthem bursting with attitude, confidence and irresistible hooks, ‘Expensive Taste’ further establishes MEEK as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists. Written by MEEK alongside David Pramik and Caroline Baker, and produced by Pramik, the track pairs infectious melodies with MEEK’s unmistakable vocal delivery and fearless personality.

Named one of Rolling Stone UK’s ’25 Artists to Watch’ as part of its Future of Music list, MEEK has spent the start of this UK summer performing at major events including Mighty Hoopla, Capital’s Summertime Ball and London Pride, as well as appearing on Saturday Night Live UK and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This month (August), she will join Kesha as special guest on her US tour, before returning to the UK this autumn for her own headline tour, culminating at London’s Electric Brixton.

MEEK says, “I wrote ‘Expensive Taste’ while I was splitting my time between my basement flat in Brixton and writing trips to LA. I found the contrast really funny – living between two completely different worlds. The song doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither do I.”
